Surviving werewolf pack politics proves complicated…
When the local alpha calls Lee to a meeting, Lee reluctantly agrees to meet with her. Not because Lee must. Thanks to a quirk of genetic fate, Lee gets to live outside werewolf pack structure. Gratefully. But keeping the peace with the local pack requires a delicate balancing act.
Meeting the alpha when called ensures that balance. Agreeing to do a job for the alpha, however, requires negotiation. Especially right after the full moon.
The café chosen for the meeting proves the perfect setting, with enough non-human occupants to make Lee feel right at home. But the job the alpha proposes… Anything but perfect. Complicated. Dangerous. Maybe even deadly.
Also a worthwhile challenge. Because keeping the peace with the alpha means life or death in the werewolf world. Even for wolves like Lee.
